Support Our Community: Petaluma Food Pantry
Since May 2004, the Petaluma Food Pantry has provided food - no questions asked - every Saturday morning to people in need. The Pantry is the result of a partnership between the United Church of Christ and the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Initially, the Food Pantry provided for 35 families in our area. Today, that number is up to 60 and climbing.
We will be collecting canned food throughout 2009 to donate to the pantry. You can participate by bringing cans canned food to the Celebration Service each Sunday morning, or drop your donations off at the church office. We will provide delivery of the donated food to the Petaluma Food Pantry.
Wonderful Wednesdays
CSL Petaluma in partnership with Soup Kitchen Soup is ending hunger in Petaluma one bowl at a time.
Each Wednesday night, we gather at 6:30 to have a bowl of soup, salad and bread. For every bowl of soup we eat, Soup Kitchen, Inc. donates the same portion to the Redwood Empire Foodbank. The suggested donation is $5.00 for all you can eat. Join us on Wednesday for soup, salad, conversation, and community. "Together we can change the way the world helps."
CSL Petaluma Musicians
We are blessed at CSL Petaluma to have a wonderful group of musicians who rotate through the month. All of them are committed to the principles of New Thought, and their musical gifts are a wonderful ministry.
Beloved Harmony is the duo of Tom "Star Tom" McCurry and Marguerite Dean. Their original music and close harmonies will delight.
Pam & Ron (or is it Ron & Pam?) Atchison never fail to delight with the "sometimes jazzy" and always inspirational vocalizations from Pam, and easy guitar from Ron. Listen closely ...sometimes you'll even hear him harmonize!
John & Sher Christian combine poetry and keyboards together to inspire and delight. On those special occasions when John invites The Don Giovonni's you are in for a very special treat!
David Hartranft is the newest member to our regular Sunday team. His original guitar sound borders on blues / rock, and you'll love it when he is joined by "Aurora Borealis"
